YouTube announces custom feeds and new AI features

At the annual Made on YouTube event, Google unveiled several upcoming updates for its streaming platform, focusing on both creator tools and viewer experience. A major addition is the introduction of 'Custom Feeds,' which allows users to create personalized homepage tabs by providing descriptive prompts that the platform's AI then populates with relevant content. Users can refine these feeds by rating suggestions. Beyond AI-driven features, YouTube is addressing long-standing user requests, including the ability to post GIFs in comments on both standard videos and Shorts. Additionally, the platform is expanding its direct messaging capabilities by introducing group chat functionality. While the Custom Feeds feature is set to roll out initially in the US across web, mobile, and TV, the group chat update will have a broader international rollout, covering the UK, Singapore, Brazil, and select European nations. These updates reflect Google's ongoing effort to modernize user interaction and content discovery.
