Peloton unveils new AI-powered treadmills, claiming superior accuracy over wearables

Peloton has announced three new treadmill models—the Tread Flex, Tread Vision, and Tread Vision Plus—marking a significant expansion of its fitness hardware lineup. The flagship Tread Vision introduces an AI-powered Movement Tracking Camera designed to analyze running form, cadence, and vertical oscillation. Peloton executives Nick Caldwell and Megan Imbres claim this system offers higher accuracy than traditional wrist-worn wearables by providing real-time feedback on running efficiency. Additionally, the new treadmills feature software integrations like 'ReRun,' which allows users to simulate real-world marathon routes by automatically adjusting the treadmill's gradient based on GPX data. The entry-level Tread Flex focuses on space-saving design with a folding mechanism. These updates represent Peloton's ongoing strategy to leverage algorithmic content and advanced hardware to maintain its position in the competitive home fitness market, with the new devices scheduled for release starting October 1.
