Developer Vidit Bhargava has unveiled 'Duo-Man,' a creative app designed for the upcoming foldable iPhone Duo. The app leverages the device's dual-screen form factor to simulate the tactile experience of a vintage Walkman. Users can 'insert' digital cassettes by opening the device and control playback via the cover screen. To enhance nostalgia, the app incorporates authentic button clicks and static noise recorded from a real Walkman, alongside Apple Pencil support for manually winding tapes. While the app mimics analog hardware, it integrates modern conveniences, including support for Apple Music and local audio files. Although neither the iPhone Duo nor the app is currently available to the public, the project has gained significant traction on social media, highlighting a strong consumer interest in creative software that utilizes unique foldable hardware capabilities to bridge the gap between retro aesthetics and modern digital music libraries.
