Apple to bring Siri AI to older Apple TV models via free software update

Apple has announced that its new Siri AI features, previously exclusive to the upcoming fourth-generation Apple TV 4K, will be coming to older models. A forthcoming tvOS 27.2 update will bring the AI-powered assistant to the second and third-generation Apple TV 4K devices. The update, which will be available in select countries including the U.S., UK, and Australia, promises more personalized recommendations and enhanced contextual understanding. While these older models may experience slightly slower performance than the new hardware, Apple has confirmed that the core features remain intact. Additionally, Apple has released a new Siri Remote featuring a built-in speaker and Precision Finding capabilities, which is compatible with previous Apple TV generations. This initiative allows existing users to refresh their current devices with modern AI capabilities and improved remote functionality without the need to purchase the latest streaming box.
