Anduril partners with Poland to develop Barracuda cruise missile

Defense technology firm Anduril has entered a strategic partnership with Poland’s state-owned conglomerate PGZ to produce the Barracuda-500M cruise missile. The ground-launched weapon, showcased at the MSPO defense exhibition in Kielce, is intended to bolster Poland's defense capabilities amid rising regional security concerns. While production timelines and specific component sourcing remain under negotiation, the deal marks a significant step in localizing advanced weaponry. Beyond the missile program, Anduril is pitching its autonomous platforms, including the Fury combat drone and Thunder rotorcraft, to support Poland's incoming fleet of F-35 fighters and AH-64E Apache helicopters. These autonomous systems are designed to act as force multipliers, operating alongside manned aircraft to enhance operational efficiency and pilot safety. As Poland prepares to become a major operator of advanced U.S. military hardware by 2028, these collaborative efforts highlight a deepening integration between private defense tech innovation and national military modernization strategies.
