Researchers from Delft University of Technology analyzed over 3,000 instances where Beatles lyrics or song titles were adapted for academic titles. Notable examples include 'The lung and winding road,' a paper concerning Long COVID, and 'Here comes the SU(N),' which references quantum computing. This trend of academic wordplay is not limited to The Beatles; the study notes a previous, well-documented effort by researchers at the Karolinska Institute to insert Bob Dylan lyrics into their work as part of a long-running wager. These findings highlight a playful, creative side to the scientific community, demonstrating that even in rigorous academic environments, researchers often find clever ways to pay homage to their favorite artists.
