US Representative proposes legislation to terminate border surveillance tower program

The bill, developed with advocacy groups like Just Futures Law and Mijente, seeks to replace the DHS with a new Department of Community Safety. While previous attempts to dismantle the DHS have failed, the proposal highlights growing political pressure to reform immigration enforcement and address concerns regarding militarized surveillance and civil rights abuses.
