REGENT completes first human-crewed flight of its Viceroy electric Seaglider

REGENT Craft has successfully conducted the first human-crewed flight of its Viceroy Seaglider, an innovative electric vessel designed for coastal transportation. The prototype, which combines features of a boat and an aircraft, completed a 30-second test flight above Narragansett Bay, reaching altitudes of 33 feet. The Viceroy utilizes hydrofoils to lift its hull from the water before transitioning into low-altitude wing-in-ground-effect flight. Designed to carry 12 passengers and two crew members, the production model aims for a range of 180 miles and speeds of 180 mph. The company views this milestone as a validation of its engineering, paving the way for full-rate production at its new Rhode Island facility. With orders spanning six continents and interest from the U.S. Marine Corps for logistics and medical evacuation, REGENT is positioning the Seaglider as a sustainable, infrastructure-light alternative for coastal travel.
