3D-Printed Peristaltic Dosing Pump for Laboratory Water Treatment Systems

The author shares their experience in designing and building a peristaltic dosing pump for industrial water treatment. As part of a research project on purifying highly mineralized water, there was a need for precise dosing of reagents (coagulants and flocculants) at low flow rates between 1 and 13 ml/min. Since off-the-shelf commercial solutions did not meet the specific requirements of the setup, the author decided to design a custom device. The article details the design process, the components used, the mistakes identified during development, and the final implementation of a dual-channel 3D-printed pump. The author highlights the importance of precise reagent delivery for accurate experimental results and provides practical advice on integrating custom-built equipment into laboratory systems.
