Pantrybridge: AI-Powered Food Donation Tool

Pantrybridge is a new open-source tool designed to simplify the food donation process using Google's Gemini AI. Built for the 'Weekend Challenge: Generosity Edition,' the application allows users to scan their pantry shelves with a smartphone. Gemini performs multimodal image analysis to generate a structured inventory, including dietary tags and item conditions. The app further assists users by providing personalized recipes based on the donated items, generating thoughtful notes of kindness, and locating nearby food banks through real-time geocoding. Developed with Next.js 16, Tailwind v4, and shadcn/ui, the project emphasizes practical utility by including fallback mock data to ensure functionality even without an API key. By automating the inventory process and streamlining the donation workflow, Pantrybridge aims to remove barriers for individuals looking to contribute to their local communities effectively.
