Out with Aircove, in with Fortify: everything to know about ExpressVPN's new router

ExpressVPN has officially launched its new Wi-Fi 6 router, Fortify, marking the retirement of its previous Aircove and Aircove Go models. Developed in partnership with networking hardware specialist GL.iNet, the Fortify router is built on the Flint 2 platform and offers significantly improved performance. It features a quad-core 2.0GHz processor, 1GB of DDR4 memory, and supports VPN throughput of up to 900 Mbps using the WireGuard protocol. The device is designed to secure entire home networks, including smart devices that cannot run VPN software natively. Priced at $199.99, the package includes a 12-month subscription to ExpressVPN’s Advanced plan. While Aircove units are being phased out, existing owners will continue to receive support and are eligible for discounts on the new hardware. The Fortify router will be available for purchase starting September 16, providing a more powerful, high-speed solution for users seeking router-level privacy protection.
