Official sequel to The Ur-Quan Masters releases free combat demo

Pistol Shrimp Games has released a free public combat demo for Free Stars: Children of Infinity, the official sequel to the cult classic The Ur-Quan Masters. Developed over five years by the original creators, the demo focuses on the game's melee mode, allowing players to engage in head-to-head arcade-style space combat. Users can select from a roster of nearly 40 ships, each featuring unique maneuvering capabilities and weapon systems. The demo is currently available on Steam and GOG for Windows, Mac, and Linux platforms. While the full game is envisioned as a space adventure RPG in the vein of the original series, this release specifically highlights the tactical ship-to-ship combat mechanics. The developers have confirmed that console versions are in development, though release dates for those platforms have not yet been announced.
