Nikon unveils the Z5 II C: A compact, affordable entry into full-frame photography

Nikon has announced the Z5 II C, a new compact version of its award-winning Z5 II full-frame mirrorless camera. Aimed at making full-frame photography more accessible, the Z5 II C removes the electronic viewfinder and secondary card slot to achieve a smaller, lighter, and more affordable form factor, priced at £1,349. Despite its reduced size, the camera retains the core performance of the Z5 II, including the 24.5MP full-frame sensor, 7.5EV image stabilization, and advanced subject-detection autofocus with new fish-tracking capabilities. It also supports 4K video with 12-bit N-RAW internal recording. While the lack of a viewfinder may deter traditional photographers, Nikon positions the device as an ideal choice for video-first creators and smartphone upgraders looking for high-end sensor quality in a portable package. The camera is scheduled for release in mid-October, offering a competitive alternative in the entry-level full-frame market.
