Newgrounds.com: A Legacy Hub for Independent Games, Music, and Art

Newgrounds.com remains one of the internet's most enduring platforms for independent creative expression. Founded by Tom Fulp in 1995, the site has served as a foundational pillar for the flash animation and indie gaming communities for nearly three decades. Users can upload and share interactive games, animations, music tracks, and digital artwork, fostering a collaborative environment for creators. Despite the decline of Adobe Flash, the platform successfully transitioned to modern web technologies, maintaining its relevance for developers and artists alike. Newgrounds continues to host a vast archive of user-generated content, serving as a launchpad for many prominent figures in the modern gaming and animation industries. Its community-driven moderation and portal system allow for constant discovery of new projects, ensuring that the site remains a vital space for amateur and professional creators to showcase their work to a global audience.
