Microsoft Introduces Microsoft-Decision-1: An AI Model 35 Times Faster

Microsoft has unveiled a new AI model, Microsoft-Decision-1, designed specifically for decision-making and evaluating options rather than conversational tasks. Unlike traditional LLMs, this model excels at selecting the best choice from a given set. According to Microsoft, the model outperformed GPT-6 Sol by 35 times in decision-making benchmarks. When classifying feedback from over 10,000 Xbox players, the model operated 14 times faster and at 200 times lower cost than its counterpart. Its primary use cases include classifying user complaints, verifying other AI systems, and routing queries. The model is currently available via the Microsoft Foundry platform and OpenRouter, with plans for further iterations in the future.
