Microsoft unveils new Copilot features to streamline home and work productivity

Microsoft has introduced a major redesign of its Copilot AI platform, integrating chat, delegated work, and coding tools into a unified interface. The update features three core components: Home, which centralizes Office documents and communication; Code, allowing non-programmers to generate software via natural language; and Autopilot, a persistent agent capable of handling recurring, multi-step tasks independently. These tools leverage Fabric IQ for data context and include new administrative controls dubbed 'FinOps for AI' to manage usage and spending. While Home and Code are rolling out to the Frontier program shortly, Autopilot will enter private preview by the end of October. The release aims to scale AI across both individual tasks and complex organizational projects, though Microsoft has yet to provide independent data regarding the platform's accuracy or overall productivity impact.
