Mexican EPICS in IEEE Team Builds Portable Educational Platform

A multidisciplinary team of engineering students from ITESO, Universidad Jesuita de Guadalajara, has developed RoboMeshA, a portable, self-contained educational platform designed to bring robotics and AI into classrooms. Supported by the EPICS in IEEE initiative and the IEEE Robotics and Automation Society, the project aims to bridge the resource gap for high school students lacking access to specialized laboratories. RoboMeshA functions as an all-in-one mobile learning network, allowing students to connect via a web browser to interact with robotics systems without complex software installations. The platform integrates mechanical design, embedded systems, and AI to provide a tangible learning experience. By partnering with local high schools, the team has validated the system's intuitive design, which emphasizes ease of use. This initiative not only provides students with practical engineering skills but also demonstrates the potential for technology to foster social impact and inspire the next generation of engineers.
