Meta unveils Muse Charm, a handheld AI assistant device

During the Meta Connect 2026 keynote, CEO Mark Zuckerberg introduced Muse Charm, a compact, always-on handheld device designed to provide direct access to Meta's Muse AI assistant. Positioned as an alternative for users who do not wear Meta’s smart glasses, the device allows for voice-based interaction with the AI, which can manage tasks, set goals, and offer personalized personality settings. While Meta has not yet disclosed pricing, the company confirmed that the gadget is scheduled to ship by December 2026. Muse Charm enters a challenging market for standalone AI hardware, following the mixed reception of previous devices like the Humane Ai Pin and Rabbit R1. Meta aims to differentiate its product by leveraging the established Muse ecosystem, which also powers the company's smart glasses. The company is exploring various monetization models, including potential transaction fees for services facilitated by the AI assistant.
