Lexar has announced the upcoming launch of the Muse Ultra-Slim Portable SSD, a storage device designed to prioritize extreme portability. Measuring less than 4mm at its thickest point, the drive aims to be one of the thinnest options available on the market. To achieve this compact form factor, Lexar has opted to remove the standard USB-C port, following a design trend recently seen in products from companies like Xteink. Instead, the device will utilize a proprietary cable connection. The Lexar Muse will be available in 512GB and 1TB storage capacities when it hits the market later this year. While the slim design offers significant advantages for users needing ultra-portable storage, the reliance on a proprietary cable may raise concerns regarding compatibility and long-term convenience for some consumers.
