Lenovo unveils the IdeaPad Vibe, a colorful $699 laptop rival to the MacBook Neo

At the IFA tech trade show in Berlin, Lenovo introduced the IdeaPad Vibe, a new premium-built budget laptop starting at $699.99. Designed as a competitor to the MacBook Neo, the device is available in 14-inch and 15-inch sizes and features a wide range of color options developed with the Pantone Color Institute. The laptop offers various configurations, including AMD Ryzen AI 400 series or Qualcomm Snapdragon X processors. Key features include a 120Hz IPS display, upgradable RAM and storage, and a robust selection of ports. Lenovo emphasizes the device's AI capabilities, noting that models with at least 16GB of RAM support Windows Copilot+ features. With a thin metal chassis and customizable keycaps, the IdeaPad Vibe aims to bring premium aesthetics to the budget market. The device is scheduled to launch in October for AMD models and November for Qualcomm-powered versions.
