Kaggle has partnered with DEV to launch the Kaggle Benchmarking Challenge, inviting developers to create and share custom AI benchmarks. Participants are tasked with building a benchmark on the Kaggle platform, running it against various AI models, and publishing their findings in a blog post on DEV. The challenge encourages users to test specific capabilities like multi-step reasoning, code generation, or tool use. Submissions will be judged on the quality of insights, writing, and creative methodology. Five winners will each receive a $500 cash prize, a DEV++ membership, and an exclusive badge. All valid entries will earn a completion badge for their profile. The competition runs until October 11, with winners to be announced on November 5. This initiative aims to move beyond standard leaderboards by encouraging developers to test models against real-world tasks and share their unique technical insights with the community.
