It's Got What Content Craves: Sanity, Built for the People of Idiocracy

This project explores the intersection of AI agents and human workflows using Sanity CMS. Inspired by the film 'Idiocracy,' the author built a 'Department of Agriculture' application where an AI agent proposes crop irrigation plans, which are then approved or rejected by a human 'Cabinet' via a simplified, picture-button interface. The build utilizes Sanity Workflows, Next.js, and the Sanity App SDK to manage state and live content. A key component of the experiment was a stopwatch-based performance test comparing the efficiency of the custom 'Kiosk' interface, the standard Sanity Studio, and manual GitHub markdown editing. The results demonstrated that while the standard Studio was the fastest for the AI agent, the Kiosk provided a more accessible alternative for non-technical users. The project highlights how Sanity’s flexible schema and workflow engine can effectively bridge the gap between autonomous agents and human oversight in data-driven applications.
