IEEE Announces Incentive Program to Boost Voter Turnout in Annual Elections

The IEEE Tellers Committee has introduced a new incentive program designed to increase participation in the organization's annual elections. To encourage higher voter turnout, the committee will reward the top-performing Sections in each IEEE Region based on the percentage of eligible members who cast their ballots. The rewards are tiered according to Section size: large sections (over 1,501 members) will receive US $1,000, medium sections (501–1,500 members) will receive $600, and small sections (500 or fewer members) will receive $400. This initiative, managed entirely by the Tellers Committee, aims to foster greater engagement within the global engineering community. The rewards will be distributed following the official acceptance of election results by the IEEE Board of Directors. Members are encouraged to review candidate information and participate in the 2026 election process to support their local Sections.
