Fiio Launches FT15 Planar Magnetic Headphones with Advanced Diaphragm Technology

Budget-friendly audio brand Fiio has introduced its new flagship open-back planar magnetic headphones, the FT15. Priced at $499, the model serves as a successor to the highly-rated FT5. The FT15 features significant technical upgrades, most notably a 101mm driver with an 800nm diaphragm—reportedly 86.7% thinner than its predecessor—enhanced by a full-face diamond coating for increased stiffness. The design incorporates a carbon fiber headband and natural wood earcups, resulting in a weight reduction of 31g compared to the previous model. With a sensitivity of 95dB/mW and 24 ohms impedance, the headphones are engineered to be compatible with a wide range of audio equipment, including portable dongles and digital audio players.
