Eric Wu's NavigateAI emerges from stealth to address construction labor shortages

Eric Wu, the former CEO and co-founder of Opendoor, has officially unveiled his latest venture, NavigateAI. The company, which has been operating in stealth mode since May, is developing AI-powered copilots designed to assist construction workers. By utilizing smartphones and Meta’s AI glasses, the platform provides real-time, hands-free guidance to improve efficiency on job sites. The startup has secured $25 million in funding from prominent investors, including Elad Gil, Khosla Ventures, and Lennar. NavigateAI aims to mitigate the severe labor shortage currently impacting the construction industry, particularly within large-scale projects like data centers, which require thousands of specialized workers. By integrating advanced AI into the workflow of field personnel, Wu hopes to bridge the productivity gap and streamline complex construction processes, marking his return to the startup ecosystem following his departure from Opendoor in 2022.
