Cairn: A Decentralized Approach to Charitable Receipts

Cairn is an open-source project designed to change how charitable donation receipts are issued. By utilizing the Solana blockchain, it ensures that the receipt for a donation is generated by the recipient rather than the organization holding the funds. The system uses an escrow mechanism where funds are released only upon a cryptographic signature from the recipient, which is bundled with a hashed audio recording of the recipient confirming the arrival of the donation. By integrating ElevenLabs Scribe for transcription, Cairn provides a tamper-evident, verifiable proof of delivery that requires no central authority or trusted intermediary. The project, built in Rust, emphasizes transparency and cryptographic integrity, ensuring that donors can independently verify that their contributions reached the intended destination. This approach effectively separates authorization from testimony, creating a trustless architecture for charitable giving.
