Boox Launches Preorders for the Compact Boox Picco E-Reader

Boox has officially opened preorders for its new compact e-reader, the Boox Picco, priced at $109.99. Unveiled earlier this year at IFA 2026, the device features a 3.97-inch display and is part of the company's new 'Tile' collection. Unlike Boox's Android-based tablets, the Picco runs on a proprietary operating system without Google Play Store access, focusing on a native library experience. The device is roughly the size of a deck of cards and includes MagSafe compatibility for attachment to iPhones. Key hardware features include a dual-tone adjustable front light, a dedicated page-turning button, and a function switch for display modes. Users can transfer files via USB-C or the Boox Tile app. While shipping timelines remain slightly ambiguous between October and November, the device is currently available for reservation on the official Boox website.
