Apple is reportedly developing a dedicated AI server powered by its high-performance M-series Ultra chips, marking a potential return to the server market for the first time in nearly two decades. According to reports, the project, which gained momentum under current CEO John Ternus, aims to leverage the growing popularity of Apple hardware among AI developers. The proposed server is expected to feature two distinct configurations, utilizing either two or four of Apple’s future M8 Ultra processors. This strategic move follows a surge in demand for Mac mini and Mac Studio devices, which have become increasingly popular for running AI workloads.
