Amazon blocks Meta's Muse AI agent from shopping on its platform

Users attempting to utilize the tool to purchase products on Amazon are now met with a warning stating that the agent violates the company's terms of use. Amazon’s policy requires autonomous agents to identify themselves and refrain from disguising their identity or circumventing platform limits. The company claims that Muse fails to meet these transparency requirements and raises security concerns regarding the storage of user credentials. An Amazon spokesperson emphasized that third-party applications must operate openly and respect service provider decisions. This development comes as Amazon continues to beta test its own AI shopping assistant, 'Buy for Me.' Meta, which recently launched Muse as a capable digital assistant for real-world tasks, has not yet provided a formal response to the restriction.
